After receiving countless requests in 2019 for a cup holder that could actually work on the Porsche 986 Boxster & 996 Carrera, our design and development team went to work on on a solution. AutoRacingTechnik can now release a Porsche worthy cup holder that satisfies both form and function in the Porsche cabin.
Early 986 & 996 Porsche's were delivered without cup holders, but even owners with the later factory optioned cup holders in these models have been disappointed with what they got. Lack of stability, vibration issues, inability to hold drink containers of more than 300g in weight etc were some common complaints.
AutoRacingTechink’s cup holder arm is crafted from corrosion resistant aluminium alloy, special features include anti-tilt spill resistant neoprene insert, and a unique sweep adjustable cup holding arm to accommodate drivers of all heights. The cup holder mounting bracket utilises the strength of steel to match the factory seat frame for an original look. Full factory seat slide fore/aft travel with no issues on all available models. Quick release and stow feature also convenient and practical. Precision cut to exacting detail, then powder coated in a durable seat frame satin black finish.

Outstanding but Not Perfect
The ordering, shipping, and information from Australia to the USA was flawless, great company. I did have one problem, I have a 2002 Porsche Boxster 986 S left hand drive with power seat backs. I had to have a Porsche expert mechanic modify the rail connector to accommodate the power seat back. That instillation cost me an additional $100 US to make the drink holder fit. I will say inspire of the mechanic’s installation was worth the price. BEST drink holder design on the market. I wish the electric seat back has been built into a design option.

Just fine as a cup holder. Install was a bit of a problem but ART assistance was quick and on the job, best assistance I've ever had. Thanks to all at ART.
